Mobile Website or Mobile Application

The great question of technology today may be something very different than what you imagined in the past.

Years ago, back in the early 90s I was consulting with various business owners who were interested in a website but just did not understand how it worked and more than often they were afraid of the technology.

Some of them understood how powerful it was and others thought it was just another fad.

One guy said to me that the internet was just a fad and that it would soon be over.

The funny thing is that business now has a for sale sign out side…

This does not mean that there your business will go out of business if your not up to date with the technology of the times but it does mean that when you refuse to change because you think that your business is immune from the future you could end up in a situation where your business will fail.

You can go right along and just ignore what technology is all about or you can learn more about it and compete because in the very near future business companies that provide consumer services beyond the ordinary point of sale, will prosper while other companies experience the pain of shrinkage.

Mobile America

Mobile development can be an expensive in more ways than one, you might think that buying a cheap alternative to a professionally produced mobile application is a great way to save money but the truth could be much different.

In the past we saw the website design market place begin to move from Million dollar websites to less expensive alternatives which at first were not too bad, however over time the price of a website went so low that the quality of the product began to decline.

You can see the same thing happening again, this time with mobile websites and applications.

Would you trust your business to a high school student?

Most business owners would agree with the idea that creating a positive image is one of the most important things you can do to gain new business.

  • Would you sacrifice the quality of your product just because you might save a few dollars?
  • Would you serve cold food at your restaurant?

The answer is NO, Not if you want to continue to be successful in your business.

There are a lot of things about running a business that the average person does not understand.

Managing a successful business is a full time endeavor, it takes a lot of effort and planning to remain successful in a challenging economy.

Developing software

There are many unique software products online today and many of them are of good quality there are many more that are of a sub standard quality.

Developing good solid software can be very difficult it requires a lot of careful consideration and thought it only makes sense that planning take at least as long as production perhaps even longer since poor planning can sap the sales of any digital product failure to plan and think out the needs and the features of a software product will rob you of the profits potential of your development every single time.

This seems a little odd to me since this is a truth that cannot be contradicted yet this is also the single most often made mistake.

Planning and development plus testing equals a great opportunity to make money selling a digital product if your planning on selling a digital product you should carefully consider the needs your product will meet well in advance of spending the money you will make.

It is true that some of the most substantial fortunes made in this century were made in the digital software market.

However the truth is that none of these software products save one were produced and developed with failure in mind.

If you really want to develop good software and other digital products finding a good planner is something that you must do and do very well if you hope to succeed in this very competitive market.

license validation

Do you lock up your house when you leave town?

Imagine what would happen if you just left the front door wide open…

A recent question came up on a forum that was of particular interest to several members of that community and it is of interest here as well, it was the question of licensing and validation, how it effects the buyers of products that require daily and or even hourly validation of a products veracity, how can you make sure that your users are entitled to use your software?

Many felt that since they had spent money to be able to use a product that any interruption in the ability of that customer to use that product constituted, not only a failure of service on the vendors part but also a failure of the product to provide the value for which it was sold and for which the buyer paid for its use.

When you look at the situation in that light you cannot fail to appreciate the irony of the few causing trouble for the whole body of customers, the example being the few who may not have obtained the product lawfully causing the main body of customers to suffer with being denied access to products. So is there a balance between the rights of the product owners, to keep people who have not paid from using their products and the rights of those customers who should rightly have unfettered access to their products at all times?

The answer may not be as easy said as it is done, for many reasons, however, one might thing that the needs of the many would outweigh the needs of the few. Of course without paying customers what would you have?

When you consider the risk of the alienation of your customers by deny access to products that customer had purchased, could cause a serious bank account issue, you have to consider the needs of the customer first and foremost. Which is an interesting thing to observe in many companies which apparently take the opposite approach and would rather deny access to everyone and thus effectively fail the very people that are providing your revenue, which in the old days, would have been called biting the hand that feeds you. Which any sane individual would have seen as the most truthful thing ever.

Yet, that is not what we have seen over the course of the last year in stead we have seen the value of the customer consistently denied in favor of the needs of the few. This makes no business sense at all, yet many large corporations are in fact doing just that, without regard to what customer think, say or do.

Perhaps when revenue begins to decline and everyone that can be blamed has been blamed, and still no solution has been found, perhaps they will see what this post is all about and then collectively attempt to assuage the guilt of failure with apology, however at that time I rather suspect that once the fox is allowed in the hen house, the damage has been done, it is only though the insight of foresight, that a true solution to the problem can be obtained. Consider the customer first.,

buying software online

How do you know you can trust that you will be getting real software

There are many different places online where they offer you a discount for buying software, however very often you may not be getting what you think you are getting here are a few things to watch out for when considering buying software online.

buying software on ebay can be a risky thing, so make sure you understand some of the things you may want to know about a software vendor.

  1. Version what version are you getting is it a full version or is it an educational version, is it an upgrade?
  2. Watch out for tricks that some vendors may try to play on you.
  3. beware of ebay sellers with little or no feedback…
  4. check out a vendors previous auctions and feedback.
  5. Google that vendor to see if there have been complaints in the past.
  6. Avoid vendors that offer to sell you a deep discounted software program, (it might be counterfeit)
  7. Send them an email, if they reply and answer your questions, (all of them) then you will know more about them.

The bottom line is that if you are not careful you could end up spending money on software and getting nothing in return be fully aware of a websites policies concerning selling and how vendors work in that company. Some companies will tell you in the fine print that they do not cover you if a vendor has no feedback or they have less feedback this is not a good thing and if you find a company like that the best thing to do is to avoid them entirely. Take for example, Ebay.com here is an auction for software that is very popular, try out our process, check the vendor out, see what their feedback is, find out if they have complaints, and contact them to see if they reply to your questions about the auction items.

Googles new Search Engine

Do you like the new Google?

Well once again we have a change in the works that hopefully will improve the embattled Search Engine Giant which has over the last few months been the subject of quite a lot of negative public relations chatter.

After doing some research I found that the search results were providing some very low value and often yes Spammy search results often containing a high number of Google Adsense advertising and very little content.

What will this mean to the thousands of publishers that play by the rules, hopefully they will see an increase in search engine traffic but allegedly google is playing a dangerous see saw game of hide and seek, with its corporate advertisers at the top of every search result, it is hard to find the hard data that your looking for, that is a big problem for just about every search engine out there not to mention Google.

Still, will this really work or will it yet backfire once again?

It remains to be seen one thing for sure, if your not playing by the rules eventually your going to pay a price, but how do you know what the rules are if they change so often and without any advance notice that you are unprepared for those changes?

It seems as if Google is lost in translation here, both in the larger market for consumers and in the market for advertisers.

Back when it was two guys who had a dream they made come true it was a great thing but sadly something changed.

Something is vastly different about Google and that is what many consumers are finding out about Google, it is no longer what it once was as a company, the sheer number of disaffected and down right angry youth, who have been turned off toward google and its products is devastating to the search engine giant.

When you value the advertiser over the consumer its a no win situation and until google realizes that very basic fact, they are not going to improve their services, its not rocket science, publishers, have the consumer base, and if you treat your publishers like trash, you will pay a price for that.

Keyword traffic

Search engines, distribute traffic, keywords define how that traffic is distributed along with a quality factor, and other factors.

How do you get traffic to your websites?

Do you use SEO methods?

Do you spend hours of your time?

Developing traffic is all about using keywords and writing good clean content.

There are a number of possible research methods when developing keyword topics.

keyword traffic estimator is a method of making an educated guess at how much traffic a particular keyword might have.

In fact the market for keywords is a very expensive one from as high as $8 to 15 dollars per keyword and up, it is hard to imagine just how much money some of these companies charge for thier products.  For example we asked a well known company for a quote on keyword access this is just access to a database, and they said, that they could provide that access for $800.00 US Plus a surcharge that would apply for addational calls to the database, now imagine that they are actually using Amazon Web Services, to provide the through put for this service, given the likely cost of the service which is about $78.00 per month, the idea of charging $800.00 per month, is not only marginally insulting but amazing.

Do not get ripped off, by companies that are trying to find a meal ticket.

We are not against the idea of someone making a profit but this is realy crazy.

It really does pay to shop around because we found a much better service, for much less, in fact the level of data that they provide is just nothing short of amazing.

Visit them here because you just have to see this data it is just that good.

Learning about keywords is just part of what you really need to understand about succeeding online.

seo keywords and how patterns effect your web page.

SEO keywords research.

Google keyword tool, meta keywords, the list of all the different types of SEO keywords is enormous.

In every instance in life we see patterns, they emerge in our lives.

They effect everything around us from the time we wake up in the morning until we go to bed at night. It is because of these patterns that we see methods of how human interaction is different, every time it is different, however, when you develop a pattern of never changing even the smallest things, it creates a problem for websites that use automatic methods of producing content.

Now this is a big subject, and there are literally millions of millions of websites dedicated to SEO, however, only a hand full of them actually reveal anything that is worth reading, and still fewer of the services are worth what they advertise. Now you may be asking why is that? Well for the most part there are hundreds of these so called guarantee services, that promise you everything but deliver often nothing. It is a concern that we have so many of these services, that promise the number one ranking in Google, when you know they cannot deliver it, because the number one position is always a sponsored position, that means you have to pay Google for that position, now that is not bad, at least not entirely bad, because Google has to make money right, otherwise how could they afford all the costs associated with running a huge business and make no mistake it is a business, that is why most of these SEO companies are just bunk, trash, garbage, and scams. So the next time you are tempted to pay for an SEO service, think about it, can they really do what they claim they can do? Did you know that even just one or two links per day can benefit your website better than having 2000 backlinks per day? That might sound crazy, but in reality it is true, mostly because Google will penalize you for buying back links, and don't think they don't know what your doing, I mean come on, they were doing it long before you did, so they know what to look for and they know when you do it. So in reality, using social book marking, and SEO, using your own two hands will help your website more than buying a service. One final thought, and think about this long and hard, before you think about buying an SEO service, look at the ranking of the website you are buying from, are they in the top set? Or are they ranked really really low at Alexa? Now that will tell a huge story, because if the company that claims that they can get you high rankings cant even get high rankings for their own website, then how can you expect them to get high rankings for your website. Does that compute, I sure hope so, because I have had so many clients that have come to me wailing about how much money they have spend on SEO services and they get almost no results, and that my friends is the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

affiliate amazon

Companys like linkshare, and even google affiliate, are great opportunities to make a little spare change and if your really good you can create a decent part time income, but can you really make big money selling affiliate products?

The answer is yes you can but it does take some work when dealing with millions of affiliates out there you have to be better than your competition.

Affiliate marketing programs has never been as popular before as it is today.

Why?

here can be a number of reasons.

The most probable reason, however, could be the fact that the benefits of affiliate marketing have become clearer to a lot of people now than they were before.

Today, both the merchants and the affiliates can see clearly that affiliate marketing can work for both of them.  The merchant sees affiliate marketing today as the chance to advertise their products at a lower cost.  The affiliates, on the other hand, sees affiliate marketing as an easy way of earning profits online by doing what they like most, and that is by creating websites.

Just as the popularity of affiliate marketing has shifted into greater heights, so has the people’s outlook about it changed.  No longer is affiliate marketing considered today as an alternative method for the merchant to advertise his products, or as a source of additional income for the affiliates.

For merchants and affiliates alike, affiliate marketing is now considered as a main source of profits and revenues.

So the question now is what type of affiliate marketing will work best for you?  Are all affiliate marketing programs the same?  Are the benefits the same?  Or are there affiliate marketing programs that work better than the others?

There are actually different types or classes of affiliate marketing, and the number of types will depend on how one will classify them.  The most basic affiliate marketing programs, however, falls under two categories: pay-per-click (PPC), and pay-per-performance (PPP).

Pay Per Click (PPC)

PPC is the most popular type of affiliate marketing for affiliates with small websites, and probably the easiest way for them to earn money.  In this affiliate marketing type, the merchant pays his affiliate whenever a visitor is referred to his site, that is whenever someone clicks through the merchant’s banner or text ads.  The affiliate gets paid a certain amount even if the visitor he referred does not purchase anything from the merchant’s site.  However, typical fees for PPC affiliate programs are small, usually not exceeding a dollar for every click.

Pay Per Performance (PPP)

PPP affiliate marketing is the most popular among merchant and is also the most lucrative type for the affiliates.  In this type of affiliate program, the merchant only pays the affiliate whenever his referral translates into an auction that is whenever the visitor he has referred actually buys something from the merchant’s site or when the visitor becomes a lead.  This means a lot of savings for the merchant.  On the other hand, it becomes the most lucrative type for the dedicated affiliate, for commissions in PPP affiliate marketing usually comes in the range of 15% to 20% of the actual product sales.

Pay-per-performance affiliate marketing can be further classified into two popular types: pay-per-sales (PPS) and pay-per-lead (PPL).

 Pay Per Sale (PPS)

In a pay-per-sale type of affiliate marketing, the merchants pay the affiliate a certain fee whenever the visitor he has referred to the merchant’s site actually buys something from the merchant’s site.  Affiliates are often paid on commission basis, although other merchants would opt to pay a fixed fee.  But no matter what the basis of the fee is, it is generally higher than the fee paid to affiliates in a pay-per-click affiliate program.

Pay Per Lead (PPL)

The pay-per-lead type of affiliate marketing is a slight variation of the PPS type and is often used by insurance and finance companies and other companies who rely on leads for their company to grow.  In this type of affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever the visitor he referred to the merchant’s site fills up an application form or any similar form related to the business of the company.  Compensation for this type of affiliate marketing is based on a fixed fee whose rates approximate that of the fixed fee in the PPS type.

Aside from these three specific types of affiliate marketing, a lot of other affiliate marketing types exist.  If the classification is based on the depth of the affiliate network, it can be classified as single-tier, two-tier, and multi-tier affiliate marketing.  There is also another type of affiliate marketing that pays the affiliate each time the customer he has referred purchases something from the merchant’s site.

Single-Tier, Two-Tier, and Multi-Tier Affiliate Marketing

These types of affiliate marketing are based on the different levels or tiers in the affiliate network by which payments are made.  In a single-tier affiliate marketing program, the affiliates are only paid based on the direct sales or traffic he has referred to the merchant.  All the previously mentioned affiliate marketing types (i.e. PPS< PPL, and PPC) fall under the single-tier classification.  In two-tier affiliate marketing programs, the affiliate is not only paid for the direct traffic or sales that he refers to the merchant’s site, but also on every traffic or sales referred by various other affiliates who joined the affiliate program through his recommendation.  Multi-tier affiliate marketing works the same way, although the affiliate gets additional commission for a wider number of affiliates in different tiers in the affiliate network. Residual Income Affiliate Marketing In residual income affiliate marketing, the affiliate gets paid not only once for every customer he has referred to the merchant’s site.  Rather, the affiliate is also paid whenever the customer he has referred returns to the site and purchase another product.  Compensation for such type of affiliate marketing is based on either sales percentage commission or fixed fee basis. The different affiliate marketing types would virtually work differently for merchants and affiliates alike, and each would generally have their own list of benefits.  Which type of affiliate marketing will work best for you?  It is not really for me to tell.  Rather, it is for you to choose which type of affiliate marketing program will suit your needs and characteristics best.
